Buffalo Grove Approves $61.4 Million Budget

Appropriation ordinance will be adopted on Dec. 17.

Buffalo Grove will replace diseased ash trees and implement its rental inspection program as part of the village’s $61.4 million budget for 2013.

The Village Board adopted the budget last week. It represents a 5.4 percent increase from 2012.

About half of the expenses will go toward salaries and benefits. The village will be run by 224 full-time and 87 part-time staff members next year.

Officials also approved a $14.7 million property tax levy for 2013. While the levy amount is about 2.7 percent higher than it was this year, Finance Director Scott Anderson said proposed abatements in the corporate fund should bring the increase down to 1.1 percent.
