Police Charge Seven at Underage Drinking Party

Buffalo Grove police filed alcohol and drug-related charges against seven teenagers Friday night.

 

Seven teenagers were charged with alcohol- and drug-related offenses after Buffalo Grove police broke up a party at 5 p.m. March 15 at a vacant home on the 100 block of Stonegate Drive.

A 15-year-old former resident of the home was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor and with violating Buffalo Grove's social host ordinance.

Also charged were:

  • Corey Bobo, 18, of Buffalo Grove, with consumption of alcohol by a minor;
  • Three 16-year-olds from Buffalo Grove and Wheeling, with consumption of alcohol by a minor;
  • A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old from Wheeling, with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All seven teens were released on personal recognizance bonds and given April 12 court dates at the Lake County Courthouse in Mundelein.

Police arrived at the residence at Friday night after receiving reports of juveniles entering and exiting the vacant home.

"The Buffalo Grove Police Department is a member of the Lake County Underage Drinking and Drug Prevention Task Force and diligently enforces laws that relate to possession and consumption of alcohol by those under the age of 21," the department said in a prepared statement.
