Police Blotter: Woman Tries to Open Bank Account with $1

These were among the reports released April 28 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

INVESTIGATION

Officers responded to a report of a male subject forcing a female into a car at 7 p.m. April 27 on the 800 block of Trace Drive. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. Arlington Heights police located the car and found the female to be OK but intoxicated. Officers later spoke to the driver, who said that he dropped the girl off at a residence in Buffalo Grove.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

A male subject was reported taking pictures and acting strangely at 8:40 a.m. April 27 at , 450 West Half Day Road. An officer spoke with the subject who stated that he is a photographer and was looking to take pictures. The subject cleared the state police database, did not appear to be a danger and was aware of his surroundings.

An official at a bank on the 500 block of Dundee Road reported that a female subject came into the bank and wanted to open an account with $1 at 12:40 p.m. April 27.  When the subject was told that she could not open an account with $1, she just stood there and mumbled. An officer spoke with the subject, who stated that she had been at the PADS site and when she left, she thought she was being followed, and came into the bank for safety. The subject rejected officer’s offer of assistance and departed.

Someone used a resident’s credit account to make unauthorized online purchases between April 21-25. The credit provider was notified.

VIOLATION OF ORDER OF PROTECTION

A complainant stated April 27 that her estranged husband has been following her after they exchange their son for visitation. The complainant has an active order of protection against her husband. An officer will follow up.

WELL-BEING CHECK

A resident reported that his neighbor was yelling and stating that he wanted to die at 10 p.m. April 27 on the 800 block of Trace Drive. An officer spoke with the neighbor, who stated that he was OK and just having a bad day.
