Police Blotter: Wallet Found, Resident Files Youth Complaint

COMPLAINT

A resident of the 200 block of Taylor Court reported that a male youth urinated on her front door at 3:45 p.m. Aug. 29. She stated that students have been loitering in the subdivision before and after school, and they hang out and smoke in a gazebo behind the resident’s townhouse. An officer will initiate a special watch for the area.

FOUND ITEM

A resident reported that he found a wallet while he was walking on a path near the at 7:50 p.m. Aug. 29. The wallet is a red Coach wristlet. An officer was unable to locate a phone number for the owner and placed the wallet into property at the police department. The wallet contains an Illinois driver’s cicense, a Social Security card and a debit card.

Palatine police requested the assistance of the K9 team to search for an at-risk person who walked into the forest preserve near Dundee Road and North Pendelton Court at 9:20 p.m. Aug. 29. The K9 team located the subject and turned him over to the Palatine officers.

THEFT

A store owner on the 200 block of West Dundee Road reported Aug. 29 that she gave a contractor $3,000 to begin a plumbing project in the store on July 21. No work has been started nor a permit obtained for the work. An officer attempted to contact the contractor without success.

TRESPASSING

A resident reported that someone entered her vehicle and ransacked it between Aug. 27 and Aug. 29 on the 800 block of Indian Spring Lane. Nothing was missing but an item that did not belong to the resident’s family was turned over to investigators.
