Police Blotter: Threats, Suspicious Customer

These were among the reports released March 22 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

BURGLARY

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and removed the navigation system between March 18-21 on the 3200 block of Indian Creek Drive.

DISTURBANCE

A resident of the 200 block of Cottonwood Road reported that a group of four male subjects came to this house and threatened him, demanding money that they claimed he owed at 11 p.m. March 21. The resident stated that the group left and did not know where they went. The area was checked with negative results.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported receiving an automated phone call March 21 that advised her to dial 1 to have her credit card reactivated. The resident did not dial the number and hung up. An officer checked on the number from caller ID and found it to be from tech support for the Dish Network.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A property official on the 1-100 block of Oak Creek Drive reported three instances of graffiti between March 18-21. Graffiti was reportedly scratched into an interior door, placed on the side of the building, and left on the front sidewalk.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

An official at a store on the 1300 block of West Dundee Road reported a male subject that was intently staring at customers and touching women’s lingerie at 7:55 p.m. March 21. Officers located the subject, who was uncooperative with the officers. He was advised not to return to the store or trespassing complaints would be signed.

THEFT

Someone used a resident’s checking account to make 11 unauthorized withdrawals totaling $5,531 between Jan. 20 and March 9. The bank will follow up.

WELL-BEING CHECK

A resident reported a concern for a neighbor at 6 p.m. March 21. An officer found the neighbor in a manic state, yelling and cursing, because he thought someone broke into the apartment and stole his keys. The neighbor’s mother advised that the keys will be located and that her son will calm down.
