Police Blotter: Thefts, Disputes and a Cracked Windshield

These were among the reports released Feb. 17 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

DISPUTE

A Pace bus driver reported that a rider became rude at 9 a.m. Feb. 16 when the driver did not answer his question regarding the fare in a manner approved of by the rider. The rider got off the bus and an officer drove him to his stop.

A customer at a car wash on the 1-100 block of West Dundee Road reported that her sunglasses, valued at $350, were missing after her vehicle was serviced at 10:10 a.m. Feb. 16. The complainant spoke with the owner, who stated that none of his employees saw the glasses and that he is not responsible for payment for them.

Employees at a restaurant on the 300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported Feb. 16 that the owner has not paid some of their wages dating back to December. An officer spoke with the owner, who stated he bought the business in January and that he was in the process of catching up on the due wages.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A driver reported that his windshield was cracked when the vehicle in front of him kicked up a piece of pavement at 3 p.m. Feb. 13 on the 500 block of Arlington Heights Road.

THEFT

A resident reported Feb. 16 that someone used her identification to open a Comcast account. The resident contacted Comcast when she received a bill for service she does not have. Comcast advised her the service is to an address in Elgin and that the company will follow up.

Someone removed stereo and sound equipment and skis between 9:10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Feb. 16 from a garage on 2400 Block of Madiera Lane. There were no signs of forced entry. The missing items were valued at more than $500.

Officials at , 770 S. Buffalo Grove Road, reported that than 18-year-old attempted to leave the store without paying for a bottle of vodka at 7:40 p.m. Feb. 16. No complaints were signed.

WELL-BEING CHECK

A complainant reported seeing a man who appeared to be disoriented sitting in a truck that was parked from 1-8 p.m. Feb. 16 at a business on the 1-100 block of North McHenry Road. Officers spoke with the subject, who had difficulty finishing sentences and was unable to answer basic questions. The subject stated he was to take medication but could not remember what. Paramedics transported the subject to the hospital.
