Criminal Damage to Vehicle

A resident reported that some time between 9 a.m., Nov. 26, and 8:45 a.m., Nov. 27, someone flattened the tires of a vehicle in the 200 block of Navajo Trail.

Suspicious Auto

A resident reported at 7:30 a.m., Nov 27, that she drops her son off at school, and a male subject is usually there and often follows the resident to her home. On occasions the male subject has presented hand gestures to the resident. An officer spoke with the male subject who denied following the resident. Since the resident took a different route home on this day, the subject was asked why he took that route also. He replied because of a traffic backup. The subject was advised to avoid the resident and to keep future hand gestures cordial.

Theft

At theft occurred between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., Nov. 24, in the 100 block of Mary Lu Lane. A resident reported that someone took a gold necklace, a class ring, and a $5 bill from a bedroom. The resident had three friends at the house during those hours. Officers spoke with two of the friends, who initially denied knowledge of the theft, then relented and confessed, police said. The adult offender was arrested and charged and the juvenile offender will be handled by a Juvenile Investigator.

Unwanted Subject

At 12:25 p.m., Nov 27, at 318 Half Day Road, a male subject requested information about a mailbox rented by his estranged wife. The store owner refused stating that he would require a subpoena. When the store owner was asked for his name, the owner became upset. The subject then took a business card from the counter, and left the store. The owner called the police and requested that the officer retrieve his business card, which was done. The subject left the area.

ARRESTS

Alexander E. Hernandez, 18, of the 200 block of Cindy, Wheeling, was charged Nov. 26, with theft for an incident that occurred between 2 and 5 p.m., Nov. 24, in the 100 block of Mary Lu Lune.
