Police Blotter: Teacher's Car Keyed Twice, Missing Saxophone

These were among the reports released April 14 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

BURGLARY

A resident of the 600 block of Vernon Lane reported that when he arrived at home at 9:30 p.m. April 13, he found the front door closed, but unlocked. The resident believed that he had locked the door. The resident then found that a gold diamond Rolex watch, valued at $9,000 was missing from a box on top of the dresser. There were no signs of forced entry to any door or window.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Jack M. Brown, 52, of the 700 block of Joel Lane, Buffalo Grove, was charged with disorderly conduct on April 6 in a parking lot on the 400 block of North McHenry Road.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Someone keyed the rear driver’s side door of a teacher’s car between 7:20 a.m. and 3:20 p.m. April 7 at . A week prior, someone keyed the front driver’s side door. Security video will be reviewed.

THEFT

A manager at reported that while conducting an inventory on April 13, he found a Yamaha saxophone missing. The case for the instrument was still in the store. The saxophone is valued at $4,173.

OTHER INCIDENTS

A resident of the 700 block of Grove Drive reported April 12 that someone unknown keeps tampering with the lights in the front foyer so that they do not work. He also stated that two weeks ago he heard someone attempting to open his patio doors and when he went to check found no one there. The resident then stated that there are two knives in the wooden slats surrounding the trash cans. The homeowner’s association was notified, but nothing has been done. An officer located the knives, which were the normal kitchen variety. They were dirty and bent, and the officer placed them into the garbage.
