Police Blotter: Suspicious And Fictitious Craigslist Ad

Buffalo Grove police reports from May 25.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE
A resident of the 300 block of Navajo Trail reported that someone unknown entered his vehicle and removed a navigation system, between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m. on May 23.


CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A park district employee reported that someone unknown defaced the park sign at Winchester Park by spray painting over the Buffalo between 5 p.m., May 23, and 10 a.m., May 24.

DRIVING WITHOUT A VALID LICENSE

At 5:10 p.m., May 24, David Sanchez, 29, of the 600 block of Piper Lane, Prospect Heights was charged with speeding and driving without a valid license. He was stopped driving eastbound on Dundee Road at Vernon Lane.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENTS
A resident of the 1900 block of Sheridan Road reported that when she did not sell her car to a subject, he went on Craigslist and posted a fictitious ad listing the resident’s phone numbers.  Craigslist has removed the ad and officers left a message for the subject.

A resident of the 600 block of Hapsfield Lane reported that when she attempted to close the door to her apartment at 12:20 a.m., May 25, it would not latch.  The resident believes that someone attempted to pry the door open and damaged the latch.  Officers checked and found no signs of forced entry and they believe that the hardware is simply wearing and not functioning properly.
