Police Blotter: Stolen Bikes, Electricity

ALARM

Officers responded to an active alarm at 3 a.m. July 20 on the 1400 block of East Busch Parkway and found a door unsecured. The interior of the business was checked and was found to be in order. A business representative was advised and the door was secured.

ALCOHOL

Michal Krzyzanowski, 19, of the 100 block of Shadow Bend Drive, Wheeling, and two 17-year-olds from Wheeling were charged with possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor at 2 a.m. July 20 on the 1-100 block of North Buffalo Grove Road, after an officer saw two youths running to a car in a parking lot. When the officer approached the car, she smelled a strong odor of alcohol. A Breathalyzer indicated an elevated blood-alcohol level in three of four youths in the car. A 16-year-old Vernon Hills resident was charged with curfew violation.

Jordan J. Frank, 24, of the 5800 block of Port Clinton Road, Long Grove, was charged with driving under the influence, fleeing and eluding police, speeding and failure to display registration at 4:30 a.m. July 16 on Deerfield Parkway at Weiland Road.

MISSING TEEN

A resident reported that her 15-year-old son had not returned home at 11:45 p.m. July 19. While officers were at the home, the boy walked in. He stated that he was at a friend’s house and did not have a ride home, so he walked. An officer explained the consequences of being out after curfew.

THEFT

Samuel B. Jackson, 29, of the 1100 block of Miller Lane, Buffalo Grove, was charged with interference with a public utility at 1:40 p.m. July 19, after a ComEd employee reported that a resident who had his electricity shut off jumped the meter and continued to take electricity for his unit between April 12 and July 19.

Someone stole a 20-inch silver GT Chrome bicycle between July 13 and 19 from the 100 block of Glendale Road.

A complainant reported July 18 that someone gained access to her account and made charges in excess of $4,600. The bank has been notified.

Someone took a 30-inch silver Onyx mountain bike from an open garage July 19 on the 1300 block of Rose Court East.

WARRANT

Patrick L. Berman, 18, of the 100 block of Glendale Road, Buffalo Grove, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation at 2:15 a.m. July 20 on the 1100 block of Miller Lane.
