Police Blotter: Rocks Thrown at Window, Gas Customer Forgets to Fill Up

ALCOHOL

Rauf T. Teymurzada, 38, of the 1900 block of West Granville Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver and illegal lane usage at 1:17 a.m. June 3 at Dundee Road and Oak Creek Drive.

BURGLARY

Multiple items were taken from an unlocked car parked on the 1200 block of Sandhurst Drive between 5 p.m. June 2 and 6:30 a.m. June 3.

DISPUTE

A customer at the Shell station on Lake-Cook Road reported that he prepaid for gas while making another purchase on June 3, and then forgot to pump the gas. He was advised to return the following day when a manager was working.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Someone broke an outdoor light near the Prairie Middle School  playground between 3 p.m. June 3 and 8:30 a.m. June 4. 

SPEEDING

Amir H. Suchwani, 22, of the 0-100 block of Newton Drive, Buffalo Grove, was charged with speeding more than 40 miles per hour over the posted speed limit, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle at 12:10 a.m. June 3 at Lake-Cook Road and Hastings Drive.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENTS

Police received a report of a person who was acting suspiciously at 4:25 a.m. June 5 at Jewel. The person was monitored by the complainant while in the store, and he left without incident. 

Someone threw rocks at an open window at 1:53 a.m. June 3 on the 0-100 block of Villa Verde Drive. The rocks, which hit the window screen, did not cause any damage.

A resident of the 600 block of Wyngate reported receiving a telephone call from someone inquiring about her computer at 10:09 a.m. June 3. She recognized it was a telephone scam and ended the call. 

THEFT

A resident of the 900 block of Prague reported that a lawnmower that was stored outside was taken sometime between 5 p.m. May 30 and 6 a.m. June 5.

A vehicle drove off without paying for gas they pumped at 10:20 a.m. June 5 at the Shell station on Arlington Heights Road. Police left a message for the vehicle’s owner.  

A resident of the 300 block of Hiawatha reported that his vehicle’s registration sticker was taken between 4 p.m. June 2 and 7:28 p.m. June 3.

VANDALISM

A resident of the 2000 block of Jordan Terrace reported that several eggs had been thrown at the front of his house at midnight June 5. 

OTHER INCIDENTS

Police received a report June 5 that on several occasions miscellaneous garbage has been dumped in the parking lot of a complex on the 0-100 block of Buffalo Grove Road.
