Police Blotter: Rent Money Stolen From Unlocked Car

BURGLARY

A complainant stated that he parked his car at 10 a.m. at the rear of the business on the 1100 block of Weiland Road and when he returned at 10:30 p.m., he found that someone had entered his unlocked car and removed $1,300 from his wallet, which was in the glove box. That amount was there so that he could pay his rent.

A concerned citizen reported an elderly woman who appeared to be disoriented was walking at 8:15 a.m. Aug. 30 on the 1400 block of Busch Parkway. An officer located the woman, who stated that she was walking from the bus stop to her new place of employment and got lost. The officer gave her a ride to her new job.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A complainant reported that something damaged the passenger window of his truck at 1 p.m. Aug. 30 on the 2200 block of Millbrook Drive. The truck was parked along the grass in a rear parking lot. The complainant believes that landscapers, who were there earlier, may have kicked up a rock that struck the window.

OTHER INCIDENTS

A resident reported receiving a $438.05 bill Aug. 30 from a cable company for failing to return a cable movie box that was used when he supposedly lived in Palatine. The resident has lived in Buffalo Grove for 16 years and has never lived in Palatine.
