Police Blotter: Property Stolen from Cars, Construction Site

ALARM

Officers responded to an active house alarm at 2:50 a.m. Oct. 21 and found the rear patio door unlocked. There was no one at home. The house was checked and found to be in order. A representative was contacted and advised. The house was secured.

BURGLARY

Someone removed a navigation system and a cellphone charger from a vehicle between 8 p.m. Oct. 18 and 8 a.m. Oct. 20 on the 1300 block of Rose Court West. There were no signs of forced entry.

Someone removed a black duffel bag containing work-related items from a vehicle between 8 p.m. Oct. 19 and 7 a.m. Oct. 20 on the 1300 block of Rose Court West.

DRUGS

Daniel P. McGovern, 19, of the 2400 block of Palazzo Court, Buffalo Grove, was charged with possession of cannabis and failure to yield the right of way at 4:40 p.m. Oct. 20 at Cobbler Lane and Weiland Road.

FOUND ITEM

A resident reported finding a set of keys lying on the sidewalk at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 20 near Horatio Boulevard and Ridgewood Lane. A key card for the was attached to the keys. Attempts to contact the library failed. The keys were placed into property at the police station.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/INCIDENT

A resident reported someone was sitting in an unknown vehicle at 10:40 a.m. Oct. 20 on the 1-100 block of Chevy Chase Drive. The resident was concerned due to . The vehicle was gone when police arrived.

A employee reported finding a syringe and small zip-lock bags at 1 p.m. Oct. 20 on the 200 block of Dundee Parkway. The items were retrieved and placed into evidence for destruction.

THEFT

A construction foreman reported the theft of seven steel pipes used for framing between 4 p.m. Oct. 19 and 7:30 a.m. Oct. 20. The pipes were taken from an unsecured spot behind .
