Police Blotter: Police, Fire Staff Help Elderly Man Home

CITIZEN ASSIST

Employees at Buffalo Grove Fire Station 27, 100 West Half Day Road, reported an elderly man knocking on a window requesting assistance at 12:20 a.m. April 19. The man appeared disoriented, so paramedics checked him and determined he was not injured. Authorities learned that the man was a resident at the assisted-living center next door to the station. The man was returned.

COMPLAINT

A resident stated April 18 that she has an order of protection against her ex-boyfriend and he had been calling all day to her place of employment. The order had not been served, so the officer called the ex, advising him of the order and to cease contact with the resident.

FOUND ITEM

A person turned in an ABU-Garcia black rod and reel found April 18 on the 1100 block of West Lake-Cook Road. They were placed into property at the police station.

A person cleaning a bank-owned home on April 18 reported finding police property belonging to the former owner, who was a Cook County sheriff’s police officer. The property will be returned to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

OBSTRUCTION

Anilkumar G. Gaonkar, 58, of the 2200 block of Applehill Court, Buffalo Grove, was charged with obstructing a police officer at 3:50 a.m. April 19 on the 2200 block of Applehill Court South.

WELL-BEING CHECK

A complainant reported April 18 that his partner, who has been living at the , has not been taking his medications, did not go to work that day, and that he was concerned for his well-being. An officer spoke with the partner, who confirmed he had not taken his medications and that he was not feeling well. Paramedics transported the man to the hospital.
