Police Blotter: Open Storm Door, Car Trespassing

IMPROPER SECURITY

A resident reported an open door at a vacant house at 6:20 p.m. July 16 on the 400 block of Checker Drive. Officers found an open storm door but all other doors and windows were secure. 

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

Officers responded to a report of two men carrying a ladder to the rear of a home at 11:40 a.m. July 16 on the 1200 block of Euclid Court. An officer spoke with the men, who stated that they were there to check for hail damage. They did not have a contract or work order. The resident stated that she did not request an inspection.

A resident of the 500 block of Harris Drive reported that his wife found the glove box and center console in their vehicle was opened between 7 p.m. July 13 and 9 a.m. July 14. There was nothing in the car to take. There were no signs of forced entry.

OTHER INCIDENTS
 

A complainant reported July 16 that she hired a moving company to empty the building. The representative of the moving company changed the price from what was originally negotiated. When the complainant told the representative that she no longer wanted them to make the move, the representative demanded a $250 cancellation fee. He then upped that fee to $750. The complainant was advised that this is a civil matter.

When a resident filed his tax return on July 16, he was advised that a return was already filed under his Social Security number. The resident has placed an alert with the three credit bureaus.
