WELL-BEING CHECKS

A counselor for Boys Town in Nebraska received a chat room notification April 24 from a person identified as a 15-year-old girl. The girl made comments that may place her in jeopardy. It was determined that the girl’s computer was in Buffalo Grove. Officers checked numerous homes in that area but found no girl of that age and other identifiers.

A woman called from Florida April 24 and requested that officers check on her adult son who had made some troubling statements the evening before. The mother was not able to make contact with the son. A keyholder allowed officers into the son’s home and did not find anyone inside. Officers checked the police state database to determine if any other police department had contact with the son. They determined that Libertyville police did, and had transported the man to Condell Hospital and he was transferred to Alexian Brothers Hospital. His mother was advised.
