Police Blotter: Officers Charge Two with DUI

ALCOHOL

Peter J. Cannistra, 51, of the 1800 block of Oriole Drive, Elk Grove Village, was charged with driving under the influence and driving too fast for conditions at 6:05 p.m. Oct. 23 on Arlington Heights Road at Checker Road.

Robert J. Higgason, 28, of the  27300 block of Primrose Lane, Mundelein, was charged with driving under the influence, speeding and illegal lane usage at 11:5 p.m. Oct. 23 on southbound Arlington Heights Road at Bernard Drive.

CIVIL MATTERS

A resident reported Oct. 23 that she entered into a contract with a company to rebuild the front porch in brick. The work was started but not completed. A significant down payment was made. The resident will contact an attorney in an attempt to recover the money. 

A complainant reported Oct. 23 that a former employee failed to return a company-issued iPhone. The complainant located the phone through a locater app, but was advised to stay away from the former employee because a no-contact order of protection exists. 

FOUND PROPERTY

A store clerk at Smokey’s reported that someone left their Passport at the store on Oct. 22. An officer located the owner and she picked up her property.

ORDER OF PROTECTION

A complainant reported Oct. 20 that she has an order of protection against her ex-husband, who continues to make harassing and threatening phone calls. An officer will follow up. 

UNWANTED VISITOR

A resident reported that she obtained an order of protection against her ex-boyfriend and that he was at her home at 6:25 p.m. Oct. 23. It was determined that the ex-boyfriend had not been served with the order. Officers served the ex-boyfriend, who collected some belongings and departed.
