Police Blotter: Officer Stops Train Station Free-for-All

ALCOHOL 

Matthew K. Brainerd, 30, of the 500 block of Alcoa Lane, Hoffman Estates, was charged with driving under the influence and speeding at 3:50 a.m. Jan. 17 on Lake-Cook Road at Milwaukee Avenue.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported receiving phone calls between Dec. 17 and Jan. 17 from someone offering to lower her interest rates. The calls continue even though the caller was asked to stop. The resident was advised of the Do Not Call list procedure.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

An individual reported that people were helping themselves to items in an unsecured display case at 8 a.m. Jan. 17 at Java Junction in the . An officer secured the case and notified the owner.

WARRANT

Tae Kwon, 40, of the 2700 block of Aspen Court, Glenview, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court for a DUI charge at 4:40 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Cook County Courthouse, Rolling Meadows.

OTHER INCIDENTS

A contractor requested officers stand by while he retrieved his tools from a job site at 9:20 a.m. Jan. 17 on the 800 block of South Buffalo Grove Road. The contractor was in a dispute with the owner and did not want to be accused of taking something that was not his.
