Police Blotter: Missing Jewelry, Harassing Phone Calls

DRUGS

Kyle C. Steiner, 21, of the 200 block of West Palatine Road, Palatine, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash at 6:08 p.m. March 19 on the 100 block of Lake-Cook Road.

THEFT

A resident reported an unauthorized withdrawal was made from his account and that he received two credit card verifications in the mail between Feb. 28 and March 18. The new accounts showed an address in New York. The resident was given information on how to contact the credit bureaus.

A resident of the 100 block of Manchester reported a couple of pieces of jewelry went missing from her bedroom between Sept. 15 and March 19.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A complainant reported receiving several calls March 19 from a person demanding money for a debt that the complainant does not owe. Officers contacted the caller, but could not obtain any information on the company. The complainant was advised to block the incoming number to avoid future unwanted calls. 

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A complainant on the 100 block of Strathmore reported March 18 the locks were changed on the wrong unit. After the error was identified, the situation was corrected.
