Police Blotter: Man Just Wanted to Drive Around

COMPLAINT

A resident reported that a man driving a white van was cruising the neighborhood of Mill Creek Drive and Radcliffe Road at 9:30 p.m. Feb. 29. When the resident asked the driver if he needed assistance, the drive began to yell at the resident. An officer spoke to that driver, who stated that he lived in the area and felt like driving around. The officer watched him drive through the neighborhood a few more times until he went home.

Someone cut a padlock on a landscape trailer between Feb. 22 and Feb. 23 in a parking lot on the 1100 block of Lake-Cook Road. Nothing was reported disturbed or missing from the trailer.

Someone scratched the entire passenger side of a car at 1 p.m. Feb. 26 in a parking lot on the 1-100 block of North McHenry Road.

A complainant reported that while the driver of the car next to hers opened his door and the wind caught his door, slamming it into the complainant’s car, at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 29 in a parking lot on the 400 block of West Half Day Road.

WARRANT

Richard M. Horwitz, 43, of the 100 block of Toulon Drive, Buffalo Grove, was arrested on a warrant for fraud and was charged with speeding, driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and expired registration at 1 p.m. Feb. 29 on McHenry Road at Deerfield Parkway.
