Police Blotter: Man Drinks to Avoid Pain at the Dentist

ALARM/IMPROPER SECURITY

Officers responded to an active alarm at 1 p.m. Aug. 28 on the 2800 block of Daulton Court and found the patio door unlocked. When the interior was checked, no one was found inside and all was in order. A key holder responded and reset the alarm. 

While on patrol at 9:55 p.m. Aug. 28 on the 900 block of Corporate Grove Drive, an officer found an overhead door open. There did not appear to be any signs of forced entry. Officers checked the inside of the vacant building and found no one inside. The door was secured.

ALCOHOL

A store official at reported an intoxicated man was in the store at 5:45 p.m. Aug. 28. The official was concerned that the man would get into a car and drive off. An officer spoke with the man, who stated that he had a couple of drinks because he was going to the dentist and wanted something for the pain. The man also stated that he was walking and he does not own a car.

COMPLAINT

A resident reported a number of youths on the bike path at Weidner and Beechwood roads who were drinking and being loud at 11:05 p.m. Aug. 28. Officers located three youths who had not been drinking and advised them to go home. 

DISPUTE

A complainant reported that following an argument at 12:10 p.m. Aug. 28 on the 1300 block of Bristol Lane, her friend took her cell phone and smashed it on the floor, then grabbed her and chocked her out. The friend stated that he never touched the complainant and that she threw her phone at him and it shattered on the floor. The friend’s mother corroborated his story. The complainant was taken to the police headquarters, where her mother picked her up. 

A customer reported Aug. 28 that she brought a garment to for alterations, but after having the garment pinned, she changed her mind. The owner of the cleaners refused to return the garment until the customer paid a service fee. The garment was returned when the officer arrived. 

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A complainant reported that her car was keyed between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. while it was parked in a lot on the 100 block of Weiland Road.

A resident of Oak Creek Drive reported seeing a male subject spray paint a fence and fire hydrant at 10 a.m. Aug. 28. The images were gang related symbols. Police did not locate the offender. 

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

A teacher reported that a suspicious person was on the property at 2:15 p.m. Aug. 28. The teacher stated that she was sitting in her car on break, when she observed a maroon Honda pull into the lot. A man got out of the car speaking on a cell phone and he looked into another parked car. When the man saw the teacher, he quickly got back into his car and sped off. An officer contacted the registered owner of the Honda and he stated that he is 82 years old and that he junked the maroon Honda some time ago. 

THEFT

A complainant reported that someone went into the employee’s locker room at and removed $100 from her purse between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 27. Only employees have access to the room. 

A complainant reported that someone went into the employee’s locker room at and removed her wallet from a locker between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 27. The wallet contained $100 in cash, credit cards and a driver’s license. Only employees have access to the room.
