Police Blotter: Man Allegedly Attacks Driver with Snowbrush, Cat Reports to Work

These were among the reports released March 2 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

ANIMALS

A cat tried to report for work at Village Hall by entering the building with an employee. The cat was taken to Kings Kennel.

BATTERY

Sean H. Tiernan, 35, of the 600 block of East Clarendon Avenue, Arlington Heights, was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful use of a weapon and battery at 11:50 a.m. March 1 on the 1-100 block of Golfview Terrace. The charges were filed after Tiernan exposed a shoulder holster under his jacket, struck a complainant on the arms and back with a snow brush and threatened the complainant with a knife following a traffic altercation, police said.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A complainant stated that while she was walking through a parking lot on the 400 block of Half Day Road, youths in a passing vehicle yelled explicit and sexual statements at 1:40 p.m. March 1. An officer contacted the owner of the vehicle, which was driven by a son. The officer told the son to discuss what happened with his parents and the officer will follow up.

THEFT

Chad D. Levinson, 34, of the 200 block of Lake Boulevard, Buffalo Grove, was charged with theft March 1 after an official at Dominick’s, 770 S. Buffalo Grove Road, reported seeing a him place merchandise into the sleeve of his coat and leave the store without paying. 

A resident reported that someone made an unauthorized withdrawal from his bank account on Feb. 18. The bank will follow up.

VANDALISM

Someone threw an egg against a basketball backboard between 7 a.m. and noon March 1 on the 800 block of Prairie Lane.

OTHER INCIDENTS

A resident reported receiving a bill on March 1 for three cell phone accounts that were not opened by the resident. The cell phone provider will follow up.
