Police Blotter: Loud Music, Missing Package

These were among the reports released March 4 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

ALARM

A resident of the 500 block of Marseilles Circle reported that he was at home alone when the alarm repeatedly activated and he heard rustling noises at 1:35 p.m. March 3. Officers checked the home and found no one inside or anything out of place. The back door was found to be unlocked. Officers stood by until the resident locked all of the doors.

A resident of the 0-100 block of Oak Creek Drive reported that his upstairs neighbor was playing loud music and stomping on the floor at 12:40 p.m. March 3. This is an ongoing issue. Officers got the neighbor’s attention by calling her on the phone. The neighbor refused to acknowledge that her TV was too loud and she refused to cooperate with the officers. The TV was eventually turned down and the building association will be notified.

ORDER OF PROTECTION

A passenger in a vehicle stopped at 12:50 a.m. March 4 at Dundee and Arlington Heights roads was found to be wanted by the Cook County Sheriff for a violation of an order of protection that had just occurred. The passenger was detained until he was picked up by a Cook County Sheriff’s police officer.

THEFT

A resident of the 300 block of Gardenia Lane reported that someone partially opened a FedEx package that was left on the porch on March 3. A second package, expected from UPS, did not arrive although tracking information indicated that it had been delivered.

A resident reported receiving a credit statement on Feb. 8 with a balance of $5,400.93 from a credit provider that he does not have an account with. The credit provider will follow up and the resident will place an alert with the credit bureaus.
