Police Blotter: Lost Property, Suspicious Vehicle

These were among the reports released Feb. 22 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

ATTEMPTED SCAM

A resident reported Feb. 21 that he received an email from an unknown sender, who offered to share a $12.5 million inheritance. The officer confirmed to the resident that this is a scam.

LOST ITEMS

A shopper at Rogan’s Shoes reported Feb. 20 that his wife had been carrying his coat, which contained his wallet. When they arrived at the cash register, the wallet was missing. Officers provided instructions on how to protect his identity.

A customer at eSkape reported that her phone was taken from her purse between 10-10:45 p.m. Feb. 19.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Someone removed wallpaper from the entrance hallway of a building on the 0-100 block of Oak Creek Drive between noon and 10 p.m. Feb. 19. Damage was estimated at $300.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

A 12-year-old told his father that he was being followed by black male driving a dark sedan with blue headlights at 6 p.m. Feb. 21 at Plum Grove Circle and Country Lane. The boy stated that the car passed him twice, but the driver did not lower his window or attempt to speak with him. The area was checked with negative results.
