Police Blotter: Identity Theft, Attempted Scam

ALCOHOL

Jesus Perez, 50, of the 900 block of Schooner, Round Lake, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit and illegal lane usage at 6:25 a.m. July 9 on the 1-100 block of North McHenry Road.

DECEPTIVE PRACTICES 

A resident reported having problems with a business transaction between July 6-10 and requested documentation.

IDENTITY THEFT

A resident reported someone opened various credit card accounts using his information between June 29 and July 10. The resident was given information on how to monitor his credit.

SUSPICIOUS PHONE CALL

A resident reported receiving a phone call at 10:30 a.m. July 10 from a man who identified himself as a federal agent with the Crime Investigation Bureau. The caller said the resident owed them money and that he would be arrested if he didn’t pay. The resident recognized this was a scam and ended the call.
