Police Blotter: Hypno-Therapist's Absence Causes Man To Punch Wall

ALCOHOL

Justin R. Perlow, 20, of the 700 block of Joel Lane, Buffalo Grove, was charged with driving under the influence, illegal lane use, damage to village property and driving without insurance at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 7 on Deerfield Parkway and Fabish Drive.

BURGLARY

An employee at a store on the 1700 block of North Buffalo Grove Road reported seeing two individuals in another employee’s car at 9:10 p.m. Aug. 7. The employee dialed 911 immediately and the subject got into an old squad car or Grand Marquis and they left westbound on Aptakisic Road. Taken from the car were a navigation system, an iPod and a MasterCard.

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and removed 250 CDs and $5 in coins between 12:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Aug. 6 on the 300 block of Glendale Road.

Someone entered an unlocked truck and removed loose coins, CDs and a charging cord between 9:30 p.m. Aug. 5 and 5:30 a.m. Aug. 6 on the 400 block of Glendale Road.

DISPUTE

A resident and a driver had an argument about cabinets that were being delivered and others that needed to be taken back at 11:15 a.m. Aug. 5 on the 3000 block of Sandalwood Road. The driver called the resident a name and left. Supervisors from the store came to mediate the situation.

Lifeguards stated that a group of people came to the pool at 2:55 p.m. Aug. 7 on the 400 block of Satinwood Drive, refused to show pool passes and refused to leave. Officers spoke with the people, one of whom lives in the complex but did not have any pool passes. The group members said they would leave and take the matter up with property management.

DISTURBANCE

A resident of the 1-100 block of Villa Verde Drive reported three or four subjects in the parking lot being loud and arguing at 3:20 a.m. Aug. 7. An officer located two people who said that they had an argument with some friends who then drove off, leaving the two behind. One was driven home and the other was taken to the police station to arrange for a ride.

INVESTIGATION

A resident of the 1200 block of Ranchview Court reported Aug. 5 that his vehicle was parked in the driveway the previous evening and in the morning found only skid marks on the driveway. The resident stated that he has a judgment against the vehicle from a collection agency. The resident will contact the bank and the collection agency to determine if the vehicle was repossessed.

LOST ITEM

A complainant reported at 8 p.m. Aug. 6 that he lost his wallet at . When he called, he was told that no one turned in the wallet. The complainant was given a lost driver’s license report to obtain a new one.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported Aug. 5 that his soon-to-be-ex-wife continues to send text messages even though he has asked her to stop. An officer spoke with the wife who agreed to stop and conduct her business through her attorney.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A employee reported that an unknown object broke a double-paned window on the east side of the main lobby entryway between 10 p.m. Aug. 4 and 6 a.m. Aug. 5.

A resident of the 900 block of Bernard Drive reported Aug. 5 that his curbside mailbox and post were broken. It was unknown how the damage occurred, but there appeared to be a tire print in the grass.

A resident of the 500 block of Carriage Way Drive reported that someone cut his AT&T U-Verse cable line between 10 p.m. Aug. 6 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 7.

VANDALISM

A property management representative reported a large amount of graffiti on a business on July 29 on the 900 block of Deerfield Parkway. The graffiti was removed and the official requested an extra watch on the facility.

Someone egged a car between 9 p.m. Aug. 5 and 1 p.m. Aug. 6 on the 300 block of Armstrong Drive.

OTHER INCIDENTS

A complainant reported Aug. 6 that a contract was signed last September with a roofer to repair hail damage. The complainant paid half of the agreed upon price but the roofer has not begun any work. The complainant has attempted to contact the company and he received an email that work would begin Monday. The complainant was advised to contact his insurance company and the Attorney General’s Fraud Division.

A resident of the 400 block of Sussex Court returned home Aug. 6 to find the front door ajar; however, the storm door was still locked. Officers checked the inside of the home and found nothing out of place and all other doors were locked.

Officers responded to a report of a male pounding on an apartment door at 10:10 a.m. Aug. 7 on the 1-100 block of Oak Creek. An officer spoke to the male, who stated that he had been talking to his girlfriend in the hallway when her mom came out and ended their conversation. The girlfriend stated that she wanted no further contact with the male and he was advised to leave.

A property owner on the 800 block of Buffalo Grove Road reported hearing someone pounding on one of the office doors at 11:15 a.m. Aug. 7. The subject then walked down the hall and punched the wall, causing a dent and a hole. Officers located the subject driving away and made a stop. The subject stated that he had an appointment with a hypnotherapist who was not there. The property owner did not want to sign complaints.
