Police Blotter: House Egged, Wallet Goes For A Ride

ALCOHOL

Adolfo Sotero, 33, of the 600 block of Gray Court, Wheeling, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without a valid driver’s license, illegal lane use and driving without insurance at 11:20 p.m. July 18 on westbound Lake-Cook Road at Hastings Drive.

Police are investigating after a female attempted to cash a stolen check at 9:20 a.m. July 18 at .

IMPROPER SECURITY

A resident of the 1-100 block of East Canterbury Lane reported a neighbor’s garage door standing open at 12:30 p.m. July 18. Officers checked the home and found everything in order. The door was secured.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported receiving a number of harassing text messages from her ex-boyfriend between July 14-18. An officer spoke with the ex-boyfriend, who became argumentative and denied the messages were harassing. The officer advised him to stop contact.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Someone spray painted the north wall of the well house on the 100 block of Horatio Boulevard between 9:20 a.m. July 17 and 7 a.m. July 18.

A resident of the 300 block of Vintage Lane reported hearing something strike the house and a window break at 9:50 p.m. July 18. When the resident looked outside, he saw a group of youths running away. The vehicle in the driveway, the garage door and the siding of the house were struck with eggs. An etched glass window was broken.

THEFT

A resident reported that he placed his cell phone and wallet on the trunk of his brother’s car at 7 p.m. July 13 on the 1500 block of Bunescu Lane. The brother then drove off, not knowing that the items were on the trunk. The resident checked the area but was unable to find the items. The resident received a call from his credit provider that someone attempted to use his card, which had been canceled. Libertyville police notified the resident that someone turned his wallet in minus the cash.
