Police Blotter: Home, Car Burglarized Aug. 23

ANIMALS

A complainant reported seeing two dogs without an owner at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 23 in a parking lot on the 1200 block of Dundee Road. Officers arrived and brought the untagged dogs back to the . A short time later, an Arlington Heights resident called and advised that the dogs were hers. She retrieved the dogs from the police station. It was determined that her rear yard gate was damaged, allowing the dogs to leave the yard.  

BURGLARY

A resident of the 800 block of Weidner Road reported at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 23 that the front door of her condo had been forced open and the interior had been ransacked. Cash and several pieces of jewelry were taken. 

A complainant reported that someone smashed her car’s rear window and took her purse between 4:50 p.m. and 5:39 p.m. Aug. 23 on the 900 block of McHenry Road.

FOUND PROPERTY

A complainant reported finding a bike at 4:26 p.m. Aug. 23 on the parkway of the 400 block of Thorndale Drive. The bike, a 21-speed silver Magna, was retrieved and placed into safekeeping. 

HARASSING PHONE CALLS

A resident reported receiving harassing phone calls from the daughter of an former roommate at 2 p.m. Aug. 23. Officers spoke to the roommate and advised her to speak with her daughter and advise her to stop calling the complainant.
