Police Blotter: Golf Ball Breaks Window, Cash Stolen From Car

BURGLARY

A resident of the 500 block of LaSalle Lane reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle at 3:30 a.m. Sept. 2 and removed five packs of cigarettes and $1,900 in cash from the center console.

COMPLAINT

An officer responded to a complaint of dirt bikes being ridden around Newtown Drive and Weiland Road at 9:20 p.m. Sept. 1. The officer located the 22-year-old offender, who took a spill and injured his head and foot. The offender was advised that dirt bikes are not permitted in Buffalo Grove, prior to the paramedics transporting him to Condell Hospital.

A complainant stated that while discussing relationship issues with his girlfriend at 4 p.m. Aug. 28 in a parking lot on the 1-100 block of McHenry Road, she threw coffee on the seats of the car, ripped the seats with her keys, threw the complainant’s cell phone out of the car, took $1,000 in cash from the center console and left. An officer spoke with the girlfriend who stated that an argument occurred, that the complainant threw coffee on her, no damage was done and that she took no money. Both agreed to stay clear of each other.

A resident of the 1500 block of Countryside Drive reported that an errant golf ball from Nickol Knoll Golf Course in Arlington Heights struck his house and broke a window between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Aug. 25.

THEFT

A resident reported that someone made five unauthorized charges totaling $359.90 to her account between Aug. 29 and Aug. 30. The transactions took place in Illinois, Maine and New York.

A resident received an email Sept. 1 from iTunes advising her that changes were made to her account. When she checked, the resident found that her address was changed and $45 in unauthorized charges were made. iTunes was notified and has corrected the account.

A resident reported that someone used her identity to charge $660.70 on an online Wal-Mart site on Aug. 21.
