Police Blotter: Employee Fired After Allegedly Stealing Co-Worker's Cell Phone

A resident of Villa Verde Drive reported at 9:50 a.m. Nov. 14 that a friend was visiting and when she was asked to leave, she refused. Officers located the friend in the parking lot and she stated she was leaving and wasn’t going to return. The resident was in agreement with this. 


An employee on the 200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue reported that someone took his Samsung Galaxy cell phone from his desk between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Nov. 13. Security video showed another employee take the phone and conceal it in his clothing. The employee did not want to sign complaints, but is requesting police assistance in getting the phone back. An officer went to the offender’s residence and his father stated that he has not been home for several days. The offender was terminated from the business.

A resident was informed by his bank that someone used his debit card account number to make three purchases in California totaling $121.25. The bank closed the account, opened a new one and issued a new card.
