Police Blotter: Eat-and-Run, Slow Shopper Prompt Calls for Service

ALCOHOL
Alfredo Huizache-Verde, 23, of the 700 block of Piper Lane, Prospect Heights, was charged with driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, speeding, illegal lane use and driving without insurance at 12:38 a.m. March 7 on Lake-Cook Road near Hastings Drive.
ANIMALS
A resident found a black, female Labrador at 10:30 p.m. March 6 near Tripp School. The dog was taken to Kings Kennel.

DRUGS
Francisco J. Ocampo, 22, of the 100 block of Armstrong Drive, Buffalo Grove, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at 9:29 p.m. March 5 on the 100 block of Armstrong Drive.

PROPERTY DAMAGE
Michael A. Northcott, 38, of the 100 block of Oak Creek Drive, Buffalo Grove, was charged with criminal damage to property at 12:41 a.m. March 6 on the 100 block of Oak Creek Drive.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A citizen reported seeing a suspicious person hanging out at 10:54 p.m. March 6 in an Oak Creek Drive parking lot. Officers checked the area but could not locate the person.
THEFT
Two people ordered $33.97 worth of food from IHOP and left without paying at 1:32 a.m. March 7. The pair left in an unspecified vehicle.
WELL-BEING CHECK
Officers were asked at 9:30 a.m. March 6 to check on a complainant’s wife who went to a local store and did not return after an hour and a half. The wife returned while officers were present.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Officers responded to report that a customer at a gas station on the 1-100 block of Lake-Cook Road left without paying at 9:18 a.m. March 6. Officers contacted the driver, who had forgotten to pay. The driver returned to the gas station to pay for the fuel.
