Police Blotter: Early Fireworks, Found Wallet
These were among the reports released April 15 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.
ALARM
Officers responded to an active alarm at 12:50 a.m. April 15 a business on the 1000 block of Corporate Grove Drive. The building was checked and everything was in order. A message was left for an official.

A resident of the 100 block of Stonegate Road reported that a youth rang his doorbell at 10:40 p.m. April 14, and when he answered the youth ran. The resident chased after the youth, whom he said lit fireworks. Officers checked the area with negative results.

A citizen gave an officer a man’s brown wallet containing a driver’s license, bank card and miscellaneous gift cards that was found at 8:45 a.m. April 14 in a parking lot on the 700 block of South Buffalo Grove Road. An attempt to contact the owner failed. A message was left and the wallet was left at the police department.
SUSPICIOUS NOISE
A resident stated that she heard a loud crash from upstairs, creaking on the floor and the dog started barking at 10:30 a.m. April 14. The residence was checked by officers, who found no signs of anyone in the house no signs of forced entry.
OTHER INCIDENTS
A resident reported April 14 that when she tried to electronically file her income tax, it was rejected because someone had already used her Social Security number to make a filing. The IRS stated that whoever made the filing used the resident’s maiden name.
