Police Blotter: Drug Charges, Text Message Complaints

DRUGS

William R. Hydenburg, 49, of the 1-100 block of Columbus Parkway, Buffalo Grove, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:30 a.m. July 8 on the 1-100 block of Columbus Parkway.

A 17-year-old Buffalo Grove resident was charged with delivery of cannabis, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of alcohol by a minor at 5:10 p.m. July 10 at .

A resident of the 400 block of Town Place Circle reported July 10 that a bicycle had been sitting against the wall of the building for more than a month. The bicycle is a black and silver mountain bike. The bike was placed into property at police headquarters.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported July 10 that his brother continues to send him unwanted text messages. An officer spoke with the brother and he agreed to stop.

A resident reported July 10 that he has been receiving many phone calls and text messages from an acquaintance and he wants the communication to stop. An officer spoke with the acquaintance who said that she did not realize the resident did not want her to call anymore. She agreed to stop.

A resident reported July 10 that an acquaintance is continuing to harass her mother even though she was told previously to stop communicating. An officer spoke with the acquaintance who stated that she misunderstood that the concept of no contact included text messages. The acquaintance stated she would stop all communication.

SUSPICIOUS PHONE CALL

A resident received a phone call July 10 from someone who claimed the resident owes $300 from an Internet loan. The resident did not take out such a loan and believed the caller was attempting to scam him. The resident gave out no information and hung up. The call came from a landline in San Diego.

OTHER INCIDENTS
 
A collections agency called a resident July 10 to collect money that she supposedly owes a cable company. The cable company stated that the service is being provided to an address in Chicago and the account has the resident’s name on it. The resident advised that she has never lived in Chicago and owes no money.
