Police Blotter: Drug Charges, Neighbor Harassment

The following information was supplied by the Buffalo Grove Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

 CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A resident of the 100 block of Glendale Road reported on June 10 that someone used a grass killer to draw a lewd depiction on the lawn. This also occurred the previous year.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO GOVERNMENT PROPERTY
Complainant reported that someone unknown spray painted playground equipment and the rubberized ground surface at Ivy Park, 1072 Ivy Hall Lane, June 12.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Scott C. Goldblatt, 47, of the 200 block of Lake Boulevard, was arrested for disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred on May 3.  A resident of the 200 block of Lake Boulevard reported that Goldblatt has been harassing her for some time.  The neighbor said he spits in her vicinity, makes as though he will kick her dog, hinders her attempt to exit a door or the elevator, and has driven his car at her.

DUI ARRESTS
Allison Marie Schaefer, 23, of the 500 block of Jennifer Circle, Mundelein was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal lane usage, and speeding in a construction zone, at 3:50 a.m., May 28 at Arlington Heights and Dundee roads.

Ruiz Omar Serrano, 27, of the 1500 block of Cedarwood, Wheeling, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal lane use and speeding at 12:45 a.m., June 12 while traveling west bound on  Dundee Road from Grove Drive.


Joy Ann Johansen, 34, of the 400 block of Teal Court, Gages Lake, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal lane use. She was stopped at 2:30 a.m., June 12, while traveling northbound on Arlington Heights Road at Lake Cook Road.

 

DRUG AND ALCOHOL CHARGES
Kathrine Elizabeth Pridacha, 17, of th 800 block of Singing Hills Drive, Volo, was charged with illegal lane use, failure to notify Secretary of State of change in address, delivery of cannabis, possession of a fictitious/alered ID card, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor. She was stopped at 3 a.m., June 11, while traveling southbound on Buffalo Grove Road at Lake Cook Road

 

FOUND PROPERTY
A 10-year-old resident came to the station to turn in a Nike drawstring bag that he found at Emmerich Park West at 5:20 p.m., June 10.  A short time later, a mother and her son came in requesting if anyone found a bag.  The bag was returned and its contents were verified.

HOME BURGLARY
Residents of the 1-100 block of Crestview Terrace returned home to find that a bedroom window had been forced open and that the bedrooms had been ransacked.  Some jewelry and a laptop computer were taken. The burglary occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m., June 10.

 

IMPROPER SECURITY
A resident of the 1200 block of Ranchview Court reported on June 11 that her neighbor’s garage door has been standing open for sometime.  Officers checked and found everything in order.  The cable to the garage door had broken, and officers disconnected the emergency release and closed the door.

 

JEWELRY THEFT
A resident of the 400 block of Arbor Gate Lane reported that a gold chain valued at $300 was missing from his home on June 7.  The resident stated that an acquaintance was at the house but does not know if that acquaintance took the chain.

MISSING JUVENILE
A resident reported that her 15-year-old daughter habitually does not come home.  When asked where she has been, the girl will only say with a friend.  The mom requested the assistance of a Juvenile Officer.


NEIGHBOR PROBLEM
A resident of the 200 block of Lake Boulevard reported that while in the parking lot taking pictures on June 11 a neighbor was sitting in her car staring at him, which made him feel threatened and insecure.  The resident had been arrested two days prior for disorderly conduct for actions against the neighbor.

 

NO VALID LICENSE

Maria Lourdes Escogido, 34, of the 500 block of East Spruce Drive, Palatine, was charged with driving without a valid license and speeding at 1:20 p.m., Juen 10 at Lake Cook Road and Milwaukee Avenue.

 

Jorge Garcia-Gonzalez, 25,  of the 300 block of Tee Lane, Carpentersville, was charged with driving without a valid license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 4:55 p.m., June 12 on Route 22 and Buffalo Grove Road.



OUTSIDE DEPARTMENT ASSIST
Arlington Heights police requested assistance with a possible drowning at Lake Arlington at 2:40 p.m., June 12.  Assistance was provided without incident.  There was no drowning, subjects simply having difficulty getting back to shore after their boat capsized.

SUSPICIOUS PHONE CALLS

A resident of the 800 block of Chaucer Way stated that at 8:25 p.m., June 10, she answered a phone call and a male caller requested to speak with the resident’s husband.  When the resident stated that the husband was not available, the caller hung up.  The resident felt this to be suspicious. 


TELEPHONE HARASSMENT

A resident of the 1100 block of Hidden Lake Drive reported receiving a number of calls from a male caller at a private number.  The caller mentioned money owed and, on another call, requested direct deposit for services rendered.  The officer advised that the caller was probably attempting a scam, and not to give any information.

 

THEFT IN FAMILY
A resident reported that someone entered her vehicle that was parked in the garage and removed a pocketbook, between 5 and 9 p.m., June 10.  Later the resident found that someone had taken coins from a piggybank in her bedroom.  The officer spoke with the resident’s son who eventually admitted to being the offender. Mom did not want to sign complaints and requested assistance.  The family was referred to the police social worker.

UNWANTED SUBJECT

Security personnel at Escape Entertainment, 350 N. McHenry Rd., reported that an intoxicated subject was refusing to leave and became belligerent and combative.  The subject was restrained and then transported by the paramedics to NWCH, at 9 p.m., June 10.


YOUTH PROBLEM

A complainant reported that he had been sprayed with a hose and pushed into the pool by school mates at 970 Hidden Lake Drive, June 12.  The complainant stated that his cell phone had been damaged.  An officer spoke with the school mates and their parents who gave money to have the complainant’s phone replaced.
