Police Blotter: 'Do You Like My Car?' Causes Concern

ANIMALS

A citizen reported catching a stray dog at 9:15 a.m. March 7 on the 700 block of Lehigh. Officers took possession of the black and white Corgi mix that had no collar, tags or chips. The dog was transported to Kings Kennel. 

COMPLAINT

A resident of the 100 block of Greenwood Court South reported that a man came to his door at 7:46 p.m. March 7 and asked to look at the complainant’s roof for improvements. The resident declined this service and the solicitor left the area. Officers checked the area but could not locate the person.

FOUND PROPERTY

A citizen found a license plate lying in a snow bank on the side of the road at 4:10 p.m. March 7 on the 100 block of North Arlington Heights Road. Officers contacted the owner and returned the plate.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE

A citizen reported the driver of a car got out and confronted the citizen at 7:30 a.m. March 7 on the 400 block of Ridgewood. The driver asked the citizen if she liked her vehicle. Officers contacted the driver, who told them he was considering buying a new car and he wanted the citizen’s opinion.

OTHER INCIDENTS

A complainant on the 100 block of Lake Boulevard reported seeing a person who is storing property in a locker at their facility drive by at 3 p.m. March 7. The complainant asked police to contact the person and ask him to retrieve his items. Contact was attempted but not made.
