Police Blotter: Diamond Bracelet Lost at Buffalo Grove Days

ALARM

Officers responded to an active alarm at 11:05 a.m. Sept. 16 on the 1200 block of North McHenry Road and found the front door unsecured. A delivery person opened the door and left an envelope on the counter. The premises were checked and found to be in order. An official responded and secured the door.

ALCOHOL

Officers conducted a premise check at Versailles Restaurant and found that a band still was playing and alcohol still was being consumed at 2:45 a.m. Sept. 18. The manager was reminded of the 2 a.m. closing time.

Susan L. Thompson, 24, of the 700 block of Benedetti Drive, Naperville, was charged with driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, illegal lane use and failure to notify the Secretary of State of an address change at 5:50 a.m. Sept. 16 on McHenry Road north of Arlington Heights Road.

David O. Nudelman, 19, of the 300 block of Dogwood Terrace, Buffalo Grove, was charged with possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor at 8 p.m. Sept. 10 on the 700 block of Checker Drive.

Stanley Y. Fong, 20, of the 900 block of Shady Grove Lane, Buffalo Grove, was charged with possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor at 8 p.m. Sept. 10 on the 700 block of Checker Drive.

Brandon J. Mishkin, 18, of the 700 block of Checker Drive, Buffalo Grove, was charged with possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor at 8 p.m. Sept. 10 on the 700 block of Checker Drive.

Alexander J. Schroedeer, 20, of the 700 block of Indian Spring Lane, Buffalo Grove, was charged with possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor at 8 p.m. Sept. 10 on the 700 block of Checker Drive.

BATTERY

Slobodan Garyanovic, 45, of the 1200 block of West Hillside Drive, Bensenville, was charged with battery at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 17 after officers responded to a report that a fight broke out during a soccer game as the result of a penalty card at the . A victim sustained facial injuries and was transported to Northwest Community Hospital.

BURGLARY

Someone entered a vehicle between 6 p.m. Sept. 15 and 2 p.m. Sept. 16 and removed a navigation system and an iPod. The vehicle was not locked and there were no signs of forced entry.

Someone entered a vehicle and removed the navigation system between 5:45 p.m. Sept. 16 and 4:30 p.m. Sept. 17 on the 1300 block of Kent Lane.

DRUGS

A complainant reported finding a plastic bag in a laundry room at 4:55 p.m. Sept. 17 on Villa Verde Drive. An officer determined the bag contained 13.5 grams of crack cocaine and 22 grams of marijuana. The items were placed into evidence for destruction.

FOUND ITEM

A employee found a silver Schwinn Ranger bicycle at noon Sept. 16 in . The bicycle has been placed into property at the police station.

LOST ITEM

A resident reported losing a platinum and diamond bracelet valued at $3,000 while at between Sept. 4 and Sept. 6. There were no reports of anyone turning in a bracelet.

ORDER OF PROTECTION

William V. Iancau, 56, of the 1-100 block of Willow Parkway, Buffalo Grove, was charged with violating an order of protection at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 on the 1100 block of Courtland Drive after allegedly sending an email to the protected person.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION

A complainant reported Sept. 16 that a neighbor left garbage out too early and animals had gotten into it. An officer spoke with the resident who stated that the garbage company would pick up the garbage on Sept. 19. The resident was advised to place the garbage back to her house until the appropriate pickup time.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Someone punctured all four tires on a company van between 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15 and 7 a.m. Sept. 16 on the 1700 block of Leider Lane.

Someone left graffiti on two skate board platforms between 6 p.m. Sept. 16 and 11 a.m. Sept. 17 at the . Buffalo Grove Park District employees were notified.

Someone egged and toilet papered a home on the 400 block of Lamont Terrace between 9 p.m. Sept. 16 and 9 a.m. Sept. 17. One of the window screens was also torn.

A resident of the 200 block of Willow Parkway reported Sept. 17 that his patio door window was broken by an unknown object. The residence is adjacent to the second hole of the , but the officer stated that based on his experience of breaking windows with golf balls, it did not appear the damage was caused by a golf ball.

Someone damaged a curbside mailbox on Twisted Oak Lane by breaking the wooden post at the base between 8 and 11:30 p.m. Sept. 17

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT/NOISE

A complainant reported that he observed a man loading rebar from a construction site on Arlington Heights and Nichols roads into a car at 6:35 a.m. Sept. 17. An officer checked the area and did not find the subject or vehicle. Midnight shift officers reported that there was an overnight worker at the site.

A resident of the 2100 block of Brandywyn Lane reported hearing scratching and knocking on her bedroom window and her dogs began to bark at 8:40 p.m. Sept. 17. An officer found nothing out of place, the window was intact and there were no footprints in the dirt under the window.

THEFT

A resident was contacted by a collection agency Sept. 16 for an outstanding bill to a satellite TV company. The person who opened the account used the resident’s name and Social Security number, and the service is being provided to an address in Texas. The satellite company has been notified.

A resident received a call Sept. 16 from a computer company to confirm an order. The resident did not place the order and found that four attempts were made to use his credit card. All attempts were denied.

A resident reported that someone took his Toro lawnmower between Sept. 15 and Sept. 18 from a side yard on the 400 block of Buckthorn Terrace.

WELL-BEING CHECK

A resident called dispatch Sept. 16 to say she was upset that her neighbors were moving. An officer spoke with the resident who said she did not remember why she called. The officer spoke with the resident’s niece, who stated that she would follow up.
