Police Blotter: Damaged House, Power Outage

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported receiving harassing text messages Oct. 6 from someone who he believes to be terminated employee.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A Realtor reported Oct. 6 that she was asked by her client to check on a house on the 600 block of Armstrong Court, which recently was foreclosed. When the Realtor arrived at the house, she found it to be severely damaged.

VANDALISM

Someone removed a bike chain and pulled a gear cable from its proper position between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at . The chain was replaced and the cable can be repositioned.

OTHER INCIDENTS

While patrolling at the Creekside shopping center, an officer found a woman sleeping in the front seat of a vehicle at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 6. The woman was awakened and stated that she had an argument with her daughter the previous evening, and was concerned for her welfare. The officer and Lake County deputies went to the Prairie View residence and found the daughter lying on the kitchen floor, unresponsive. The girl was transported to the hospital.

A resident of the 300 block of East Dundee Road reported that she was without electrical power and was the only one in the building at 2:15 a.m. Oct. 7. The resident requested that an officer check the circuit breakers, which seemed OK. The officer went to the lower level parking garage to leave a note for the maintenance man and while there smelled something burning. The officer checked the electrical room and found a box smoldering. The and ComEd responded and shut down the power to the entire building.
