Police Blotter: Dad Finds Empty Alcohol Bottles, Officers Respond to Scare at McDonald's

ALCOHOL/DRUGS

Justin J. Kelly, 18, of the 600 block of West Tanglewood, Arlington Heights, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor at 11:30 p.m. July 30 on Dundee Road at Vernon Lane.

Stephanie A. Dunsheath, 18, of the 500 block of Spruce, Palatine, was charged with driving on a suspended license, no lights when required, and possession and consumption of alcohol by a minor at 11:30 p.m. July 30 on Dundee Road at Vernon Lane.

ANIMALS

A resident reported that while she was walking her dog at 8 p.m. July 29 at Miramar Lane and Miramar Court, a yellow Lab came up and bit the resident’s dog. The resident’s dog received puncture wounds on her back and side. An officer spoke with the person babysitting the Lab and advised her to take the dog to the vet within 24 hours, then house confine the dog for 10 days, and then follow up with the vet.

INVESTIGATION

A resident reported that his juvenile daughter was at home alone between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., and when he returned he found two empty cases of beer, two empty bottles of Jack Daniels, used shot glasses, three large holes in the wall and a wireless keyboard missing. The daughter was not at home when the resident returned. An officer requested he be notified when the girl returns and referred the resident to the police social worker.

PHONE HARASSMENT
 

A doctor reported July 26 that a patient who is not happy with the doctor’s findings regarding a worker’s compensation case has called numerous times and left messages reiterating his displeasure. The doctor called the patient’s former employer requesting they ask him to stop calling. Another message was received with vulgar language. An officer spoke with the patient and made it clear to him that he needs to stop calling or face arrest.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

Officers responded to at 5:25 p.m. July 30 at . Officers approached the man, who appeared to have something hanging from his belt. The item turned out to be a caulk gun wrapped in a sock and rope. The man gave permission to discard the item and he then left the area.

THEFT

A company official on the 300 block of Hastings Drive reported that someone took the sewer grate from the parking lot between 9 p.m. July 29 and 9 p.m. July 30. An officer placed safety cones around the opening and a garbage can inside the opening. Building management will be notified.

OTHER INCIDENTS

A resident of the 800 block of Beechwood Road found a case of empty beer bottles behind his house at 9 a.m. July 30. The resident stated that youths congregate in the area and he requested a special watch. The watch was initiated.
