Police Blotter: Christmas Inflatables Slashed

Arrests

Benito Figueroa, 39, of the 2300 block of North Major Ave., Chicago, was charged with retail theft for an incident at 11:20 a.m., Nov. 28, at Dominick’s, 770 S. Buffalo Grove Road.

Criminal Damage to Property

Some time between 10 p.m., Nov 27, and 9 a.m., Nov 28, in the 900 block of Whitehall Dr., an unknown offender slashed the inflatable Christmas decorations on the front lawn.

At 11:10 p.m., Nov. 27, in the 1 to 100 block of Chenault Ct., someone scratched the paint finish on a 2006 Dodge Ram pick-up truck. The unknown offender also cut two inflatable Christmas decorations on the front lawn. The resident’s neighbor indicated that his video security system captured the vehicle and subject.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

Some time between 7:20 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 28, in the Metra Parking lot at 825 Commerce Court an unknown offender smashed an egg on the windshield of a car and broke off the passenger side mirror. 

Theft

At 11:20 a.m., Nov. 28, at 770 S. Buffalo Grove Road, an officer observed a subject running from the Dominick’s store, with a loss prevention official in pursuit. The officer apprehended the subject. The loss prevention official stated that he observed the subject place merchandise into his backpack and leave the store without paying. The loss prevention official checked the backpack and retrieved the items. The subject was arrested and charged with Felony Retail Theft.
