Police Blotter: Car Scratched Twice in Parking Lot

ALCOHOL

Stephanie B. Kerch, 50, of the 700 block of Highland Place, Highland Park, was charged with driving under the influence, illegal lane use and driving without insurance at 12:25 a.m. Nov. 15 on the 700 block of East Lake-Cook Road.

A resident of the 100 block of North Buffalo Grove Road reported finding a note on the door from a neighbor at 9 a.m. Nov. 14. The note directed the resident to knock on the neighbor’s door when her dog is barking, and not to call the police. An officer spoke with the neighbor, who apologized for leaving the note and stated that she would address the issue of the dog barking and ensure that it does not continue.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Someone used a sharp object to scratch the entire passenger side of a car between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Nov. 11 on the 400 block of Half Day Road.

A complainant reported additional damage done to her car at 2:50 p.m. Nov. 14 on the 400 block of Half Day Road. She believes that a co-worker is responsible.

THEFT

Police responded to a report that store security was holding a man who attempted to leave without paying for merchandise at 7:45 p.m. Nov. 14. No complaints were signed.

WELL-BEING CHECK

A complainant reported a small child was left alone in a vehicle at 11:20 a.m. Nov. 14 on the 1200 block of West Dundee Road. An officer spoke with the mother who was emphatic that she had sight of her child from inside a store at all times. The mother was spoken to and she agreed not to do that again.

A complainant called police from the airport at 4:05 p.m. Nov. 14 and stated that her ex-husband was at her house attempting to see their daughter. An officer went to the home and found no one there. It was determined that the daughter had gone with her aunt and that all was OK.
