Police Blotter: Car Burglars Take Navigation Systems

Buffalo Grove police reports from May 26.

ANIMAL STORIES
A resident reported that he found a brown and black German Shepherd running loose in the area of McHenry Road and Deerfield Parkway.  The dog had no collar or tags.  The dog was checked for a microchip with negative results.  The dog was taken to Kings Kennel.

ATTEMPTED DECEPTION
A company official at Sherlock Systems Inc., 1584 Barclay Blvd., reported that a subject placed an order for ink cartridges in the amount of $6,387.84.  Because of the large order the company checked and found that the shipping is to a blighted area and not a company.  The order was not shipped.


BURGLARIES FROM VEHICLES
A resident of the 100 block of Armstrong Drive reported that someone unknown smashed the passenger side window of his vehicle and removed the navigation system and an IPod, between 11 p.m. on May 24 and 7:35 a.m. on May 25.

Between 7 p.m., May 24, and 7:45 a.m., May 25, a resident of the 100 block of Steeple Drive reported that someone unknown entered his unlocked vehicle and removed the navigation system.

On the 1000 block of Mill Creek Drive, a resident reported that someone unknown broke the driver’s side window of his vehicle and removed the navigation system, between 3:40 p.m., May 24, and 8:30 a.m., May 25.

A resident of 3 Villa Verde Drive reported that someone unknown broke the passenger side window of his vehicle and removed the navigation system, between 8 p.m., May 24, and 4 p.m., May 25.  

On the 1200 block of Johnson Drive, a resident reported that someone unknown entered her unlocked vehicle and removed her navigation system and a pair of sunglasses, between 8 p.m., May 24, and 6:45 a.m., May 25.


THEFT OF UPS PACKAGES
A resident of the 2400 block of Chambourd Drive reported that a package was delivered by UPS to his front door., between 1 and 5 p.m., May 24.  A security video at his front door shows two male subjects taking the package and leaving the area.
SUSPICOUS PERSON
An employee at Arlington Academy, 1300 W. Dundee Rd., reported being approached by a male subject who told her she was beautiful at 7:15 p.m., May 25.  When she told the subject that she was married, he stated that he did not care. The subject then followed her to a store and then back to the academy.  Officers checked the area but could not locate the subject.  Officers returned to the academy at closing time to assure that all employees made it safely to their cars.

THREAT BY COWORKER
An employee at Top Hits, 360 Hastings Drive reported that a female associate came up to her at work and pushed her on May 25.  The employee was then advised by a supervisor that he heard a rumor that the employee would be beaten up after work.  The employee was allowed to leave early.  Officer spoke with the owner who stated that he would speak with both employees the next day to resolve whatever issue exists.
