Police Blotter: Battery At Bank; Burglaries To Vehicles

BATTERY AT BANK

Dipak K. Joshi, 53, of the 600 block of Brighton Place, Wheeling, was charged with a Class A misdemeanor battery on June 11. The incident occurred at First American Bank, 1 Bank Lane. According to Commander Steve Husak, Joshi was a regular customer at the bank. On June 10, Joshi was dealing with a teller and wouldn’t let the teller out of a side door; when she came out, he slapped her. Joshi told police it was a joke, but, because he made contact, he was charged with battery. He posted $100 bond and has a June 30 court date in Waukegan.

BURGLARIES FROM VEHICLE

A resident of the 200 block of Hiawatha Drive reported that someone entered her car and removed $30 in two dollar bills, between 11 p.m., June 14, and 8 a.m., June 15.  The resident was certain that she had locked her car but there were no signs of forced entry.

A resident of the 100 block of Mary Lu Lane reported that someone unknown entered her garage and removed $2 from her car and then took a mountain bike between 11 p.m., June 14, and 12:30 p.m., June 15.  There were no signs of forced entry into the garage or the car.

Another resident of the 100 block of Mary Lu Lane reported that someone unknown entered his vehicle and removed a radar detector, a navigation system, a pair of sunglasses and a snow brush, between 12:30 a.m., June 14, and 2 p.m., June 15. There were no signs of forced entry.

Also on the 100 block of Mary Lu Lane, a resident reported that someone unknown entered his unlocked vehicle and removed four Kenwood radios that belong to his employer, between 3 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on June 15.

NEIGHBOR COMPLAINS OF DOG WASTE

A complainant on the 600 block of Maple Drive reported on June 15 that a neighbor was not picking up after the dog.  An officer spoke with the neighbor who stated that she has two dogs and her husband cleans the dog run each day.  The officer checked and found no violation.  Past complaints also ended with no violation.

THEFT OF SERVICES

An official at Barrington Orthopedics, 400 N. McHenry Rd., said someone threw garbage, including automobile tires, into the company’s dumpster, between June 14 and June 15. A piece of mail was located and the person was called and admitted to placing garbage in the dumpster. The tires will be removed and disposed of properly.
