Police Blotter: Bank Forgery, Multiple Thefts

ALCOHOL

A 14-year-old, two 15-year-olds and two 16-year-olds were charged with possession of alcohol by a minor at 8:40 p.m. June 22 at .

BURGLARY

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and removed the radio faceplate and a navigation system between 8 p.m. June 21 and 8:45 a.m. June 22 on the 2900 block of Sandalwood Road.

Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a set of golf clubs from the trunk and an iPod Nano between 11 p.m. June 21 and 7 a.m. June 22 on the 600 block of Raintree Court.

Someone entered a vehicle between 4 p.m. June 21 and 10:30 a.m. June 22 on the 1200 block of Wellington Court North and removed display cases containing merchandise the owner sells at trade shows. The cases were found on the parkway with an undetermined amount of merchandise missing.

COMPLAINT

A resident reported June 22 that weeds and grass were too long at a neighbor’s home. An officer found the yard in violation of the village's ordinance. The officer spoke with the homeowner, who stated that he had plans to redo the yard but has not gotten to it. A citation was issued.

DRUGS

Melissa K. Reinsdorf, 19, of the 1200 block of Sandhurst Drive, Buffalo Grove, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and disregarding a stop sign at 1:25 a.m. June 23 on Milwaukee Avenue and Riverwalk Drive.

FORGERY

An official at reported June 22 that a female has opened a number of accounts using different names and made withdrawals on fraudulent deposits. The subject had departed the bank prior to officer’s arrival. An officer will follow up.

MISSING PERSON

A resident reported at 10:20 a.m. June 22 that she had an argument with her live-in boyfriend who left at 1 a.m. and had not returned. Area hotels were checked with negative results.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported June 22 that since May 1, she has received continuous phone calls asking for a subject who does not live with her. An officer called the number and spoke with a supervisor, who agreed to remove the resident’s number from the automated system.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON/VEHICLE

A resident reported a vehicle idling while parked at the curb at 9:35 p.m. June 22 on the 100 block of Wildflower Circle. An officer located the vehicle, shut it off and returned the keys to the registered owner.

A complainant reported two females were arguing at 6:30 p.m. June 22 in a parking lot on the 800 block of Grove Drive. An officer located the females, who said they had been visiting friends in the complex and were talking in the parking lot. They then left.

THEFT

A resident reported June 22 that someone made an unauthorized $400 withdrawal from his account. The transaction took place in Rolling Meadows. The bank was notified and the debit card was canceled.

A resident reported June 17 that his wife did not receive a package to be delivered by the post office. The postal supervisor stated that a message was left at the residence that a package was ready for pickup and later that day someone picked it up.

Someone removed a power washer, a saw, a drill bit set and a drill from a work trailer between June 18 and 20 on the 500 block of Springside Lane. There was no forced entry into the trailer.

An official at a business on the 1200 block of North Barclay Boulevard reported that an audit determined that a former employee used a company credit card to make $4,688.02 in unauthorized purchases.

VANDALISM

An official at a business on the 800 block of South Buffalo Grove Road reported that someone entered the rear hallway to the business and discharged two fire extinguishers onto the hallway floor between 6 p.m. June 21 and 6:30 a.m. June 22.
