Police Blotter: Attempted Car Burglary, Dog on the Run

ALCOHOL

Scott D. Russell, 26, of the 4000 block of Commercial Avenue, Northbrook, was charged with driving under the influence, speeding and illegal lane use at 4:11 a.m. Aug. 23 at Milwaukee Avenue and Deerfield Parkway.

ANIMALS

A resident of the 900 block of Cambridge reported a stray, tan, male, mixed breed dog ran into her yard at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 24. Officers responded and checked the dog for a microchip, but one could not be found. The dog was transported to Kings Kennel. 

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY

A complainant reported hearing glass break at 8:22 p.m. Aug. 24 on the 150 block of Raupp Boulevard and seeing a person run from the area. Officers arrived and discovered a vehicle’s driver’s side rear window was broken.  

LOST ITEMS

A resident reported she lost her driver’s license sometime between May 1 and Aug. 24.

A resident went to the police station Aug. 25 to report he had lost his driver’s license.

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

A complainant reported seeing two people in a vehicle at 9:52 p.m. Aug. 24 on the 2300 block of Birchwood. Officers arrived and spoke with the people, who were just going to go for a walk. They left the area.
