Police Blotter: Abandoned Bike, Forged Prescription

ALCOHOL

William C. Mooney, 44, of the 500 block of Crown Point Court, Buffalo Grove, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit, illegal lane use, damage to property and failure to notify of a change of address/name at 1:50 a.m. April 28 on the 400 block of Gardenia Lane.

A citizen reported finding a brown male Chihuahua at 8:30 a.m. April 27 at Port Clinton and Buffalo Grove roads. Officers were unable to locate the owner of the dog, which they transported to King’s Kennel.

A black Chihuahua and an orange cat were found at 5 a.m. May 1 in the Speedway parking lot. Police could not determine the animals' owner and transported them to King’s Kennel.

COMPLAINT

A complainant reported a vehicle passed a stopped school bus that had its stop sign extended at 7:05 a.m. April 29 at the intersection of LaSalle and Brandywyn lanes. Officers contacted the driver and explained the importance of stopping for all school buses.

DISPUTE

A driver reported having a verbal dispute with another driver about making a lane change at 11:17 a.m. May 1 on the 100 block of south Buffalo Grove Road. Officers spoke with both drivers who then left the area without further incident. 

FORGERY

An Osco pharmacy employee reported receiving a forged prescription script from a female customer several days ago. The information was confirmed to be false and the prescription was not filled. The customer left the business without any further information. 

FOUND ITEMS

A resident of the 600 block of Golfview Terrace found a girl’s Schwinn bicycle at 2:41 p.m. April 29. An office brought the bike to the police station.

A citizen found a wallet at 7:30 a.m. April 30 in a parking lot on the 100 block of Dundee Road. Officers contacted the owner.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A resident of the 600 block of Evergreen Place reported several dents were made to the rear of her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway between April 27-28.

SAFETY HAZARD

A complainant at the Speedway gas station reported a vehicle was leaking gas from the gas tank after it was filled up with fuel. The Buffalo Grove Fire Department arrived to contain the spill. The vehicle was then removed from the site. 

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A resident of the 1200 block of Mill Creek Drive reported finding a small hole near her garage door keypad that looked like a BB hole between April 28-29. Officers checked the area and found nothing else unusual. 

VANDALISM

A complainant on the 100 block of Oak Creek Drive reported someone drew various shapes on the sidewalk with chalk between April 26-29. The writing was removed. 

OTHER INCIDENTS

A Shell gas station employee reported a customer drove away from the pump without paying for gas at 9:06 a.m. April 30. Officers contacted the owner who returned to pay for the gas.
