Police Blotter: Stolen IPad, Found Bicycle

Accidental Damage to Property

A complainant stated that on May 30 at 2:55p.m., the driver of a vehicle parked next to her opened the door of his car and hit her passenger door.  The incident left two creases on the complainant’s car.

Burglary

A resident reported that sometime between 6:30p.m. on May 26 and 8:00p.m. May 28 while on a trip, someone removed an IPad, a Netbook
and a car stereo from the home in the 900 block of Stradford Circle. The missing items are valued at $1,100.  Officers found no signs of forced entry into the home.

Found Property

A resident reported that at 4:30p.m. on May 30, a silver Schwinn men’s 21 speed, 26 inch bike was found lying on its side in the 1100 block of Manchester Drive.  The bicycle was transported to the police station and placed into property.

Outside Department Assist

Lake County deputies requested assistance from Buffalo Grove police at 3:00p.m. May 30 to locate a driver and a vehicle that were involved in a hit-and-run accident. Officers located the car and the owner admitted to the incident.  The driver and the vehicle were turned over to Lake County.

Suspicious Auto

A resident reported a vehicle with its door opened in a parking in the 1400 block of Johnson Drive at 11:15p.m. May 30.  Officers found the car and no one was inside and nothing appeared to be disturbed.  The phone number for the registered owner was disconnected and the car was secured.

Unwanted Subject

A resident reported her ex-boyfriend came to her home unannounced at 5:30p.m. May 30 in the 600 block of Wyngate Lane. When the resident did not open the door, the ex-boyfriend proceeded to call her on her cell phone.  Officers met with him and he agreed to stop contacting the resident.

Vandalism

A resident reported an ongoing issue regarding someone defacing her son’s grave site.  The most recent incident occurred between 4:10p.m. on May 29 and 4:05 May 30.  The resident stated she left flowers the previous day and when she returned they were thrashed and torn apart.  An extra patrol has been requested to observe the gravesite.

Dog Bite

A resident stated that on May 28 at 9:00a.m. she was walking her dog when another woman was walking her dog from the opposite direction.   The other woman’s dog got away from the leash and attacked the resident’s dog.  The dog was treated at the veterinarian’s office and the attacking dog was detained at an animal hospital because the owner could not provide proof of a rabies vaccination.
