Long Grove House Fire Closes Part of Route 53
A portion of Route 53 was closed this morning while firefighters battled a house fire in Long Grove.
Route 53 closed west of Route 83 in Long Grove Monday morning as firefighters battled a house fire on the 3200 block of Victorian Drive.
All of the occupants of the residence were able to exit it safely and no injuries have been reported, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The Long Grove Fire Protection District was on the scene at 6:30 a.m., according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Just before 7 a.m. smoke was still showing from the outside and firefighters were attacking the fire from the inside, a Current Incident Notification Services dispatch report said.
Route 53 remained closed to traffic at 9:30 a.m. between Route 83 and Victorian Drive, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The Long Grove Fire Protection District is investigating the fire.
