Help Needed in Locating Mount Prospect Shooting Suspects: Cops

Authorities are looking for three to five men involved in the shooting, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Department.

Cook County Sheriff’s Police are investigating a shooting which injured two men last night in unincorporated Mount Prospect, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said today.

Just before 9 p.m. on Thursday, Cook County Sheriff’s Police received a report of a shooting in the 700 block of Dempster Street. Officers located a 24-year-old man, with gunshot wounds, lying on the ground outside the front entrance of a condominium. A 22-year-old man, also suffering from gunshot wounds, was located inside the condominium. Both men were taken to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Officers and a bloodhound team searched the surrounding area, but were unable to locate the offenders. Nearby suburban police departments also responded and assisted Sheriff’s Police at the scene. Based on the information gathered at the scene and from witnesses, investigators believe three to five unknown men were involved in the shooting, which appeared to be drug related.

Sheriff Dart asks anyone with information about this incident to call Sheriff’s Police at 708-865-4896.
