Former Employee Sends Harassing Text Messages

ATTEMPTED SCAM

A resident reported receiving a voicemail from a person who identified himself as an officer with the “Criminal Investigation Department” the morning of Sept. 11. The caller directed the resident to return his call as soon as possible or legal action could be taken against him. The resident did not return the call. The resident’s Internet search of the phone number revealed it was associated with a scam. 

COMPLAINT

A complainant reported the driver of a vehicle passed a stopped school bus with the traffic arm extended at 3:40 p.m. Sept. 10 at the intersection of Pauline and Thorndale. Officers contacted the driver who stated the arm was not extended.

LOST/FOUND ITEMS

A citizen reported losing his wallet Sept. 10.

A citizen reported finding a wallet in the roadway Sept. 11 at Lake-Cook and Buffalo Grove roads. Officers contacted the owner, who came into the police department and picked up his wallet. 

PHONE HARASSMENT

A complainant reported Sept. 10 that a former employee was sending harassing and threatening text messages. Officers contacted the former employee and advised that all contact needed to stop. 

THEFT

A resident of the 100 block of Old Oak reported jewelry was stolen sometime between Aug. 26 and Sept. 10.
