Fire Department Hosts Blood Drive

Donors are invited to give blood Aug. 23 in Buffalo Grove. Participants are invited to a barbecue and will receive a free T-shirt.

The , in conjunction with the Lake County Fire Departments Everyday Hero Program, will hold a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Buffalo Grove Fire Department's headquarters, 1051 Highland Grove Drive.

The Lake County fire departments have come together to help LifeSource, Chicagoland's blood center, meet blood donation needs during the summer and holiday months, when collections are typically down. LifeSource relies on the generosity of more than 500,000 donors each year to meet the local patient needs. Your donation will not only help save up to three lives, but will also provide scholarship opportunities to local firefighters seeking higher education.

All donors will receive a commemorative T-shirt and are invited to enjoy a complimentary BBQ.

To schedule an appointment, call LifeSource at 1-877-543-3768 or the Buffalo Grove Fire Department at 847-537-0995.
